Glucosamine, a natural substance found largely in cartilage, is the
critical building block of connective tissue substances that form the
cartilage, which contributes to the health and strength of joint
structures. Most people in their later years lose the ability to
manufacture sufficient levels of glucosamine, causing early morning
stiffness, stiffness following periods of inactivity, aches and pains.

By providing the joint restorative nutrient, glucosamine normalises
cartilage metabolism, prevents cartilage from drying up, protects
joints against pressure and friction, maintains flexibility of
cartilage, controls cartilage-destroying enzymes, relieves stiffness
and joint pain, and strengthens body's natural repair mechanisms.
Small molecular size to
allow better joint structure penetration

| Frequently
Asked Questions |
 |
I notice that Nn
Glucosamine contains glucosamine sulphate. Is the sulphate portion of
glucosamine sulphate important?
Sulphate means that the
glucosamine is attached to a sulphur atom. Those with arthritic
problems are deficient in sulphur, an essential nutrient for cartilage
and joint health. Restoring sulphur levels in joint fluids safeguards
against cartilage destruction and degradation.
Is Nn Glucosamine safe
to take during pregnancy or whilst breastfeeding
No study so far has been
done with glucosamine in regards to pregnancy and breastfeeding. We
therefore advise that you do not take glucosamine during pregnancy or
whilst breadfeeding.
How long does it take
to notice improvement with Nn Glucosamine?
With 500 mg of glucosamine
sulphate 2-3 times a day, most people will experience significant
improvement within eight weeks. However, as the benefits are
cumulative and long-lasting, the longer it is consumed, the more
obvious are the results.

Excerpts of clinical
studies conducted from 1998 to 2000
Study on
glucosamine in the treatment of osteoarthritis conducted in the U.S.A
Data suggested that glucosamine
decreases pain and improves joint function in osteoarthritis.
Glucosamine sulphate is shown to be as good as ibuprofen (an
anti-inflammatory drug), for osteoarthritis of the knee.

College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, USA.
Studies
conducted in the U.S.A to show that glucosamine enhances production of
hyaluronic acid in osteoarthritis
The concentration and molecular weight
of hyaluronic acid (HA) in joint fluid are decreased in osteoarthritis.
Several trials have shown that a high dose of glucosamine stimulates
production of HA. This provides symptomatic relief, enhance
shock-absorbing properties of cartilage and in the long-term, aid the
repair of damaged cartilage.

Study
conducted in Belgium showing effectiveness of glucosamine for
osteoarthritis
Several entities that have been
carefully investigated demonstrated that glucosamine sulphate clearly
relieved pain and improved functional disability.
